As a CCTV Technician at Brown Equipment Company (BEC), you’ll be a vital part of this process, using your technical skills to ensure these critical systems are always operating at their best. You’ll be working behind the scenes, making a real difference.

Hands-On Tech: Troubleshooting and Repairing Robotic Sewer Cameras

This isn’t a desk job. This is a hands-on role where you’ll be troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing robotic sewer cameras. You’ll be working with mechanical components, electronics, and cables, using your skills to keep these essential systems functioning flawlessly. You’ll be working with equipment that has been in live sewers. This is a role for someone who enjoys getting their hands dirty and solving technical challenges. We have this need in two locations: Evansville, IN and Island Lake, IL.

Your Mission: Maintaining Critical CCTV Systems

As a CCTV Technician, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnose and repair robotic sewer cameras in a timely manner, following manufacturer’s procedures and recommendations.
  • Mechanical Inspection: Inspect and maintain the mechanical components of crawlers, cameras, lights, and lift assemblies.
  • Technical Proficiency: Utilize technical drawings and diagrams (a plus).
  • Equipment Maintenance: Clean and maintain equipment that has been in live sewer environments.
  • Tool Utilization: Use basic machine shop tools and follow safe machine shop practices.
  • Fabrication (Occasionally): Fabricate or modify equipment and components as needed.
  • Documentation: Accurately annotate and maintain repair documentation.
  • Continuous Learning: Be willing to learn and seek assistance with unfamiliar technical challenges.
  • Independent Work: Manage a variable task load under minimal supervision.
  • Customer Interaction: Communicate with internal and external customers.

What You Bring: Skills and Experience

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Strong Mechanical Ability: Experience with mechanical component inspection and repair.
  • Computer Skills: Good computer skills are essential.
  • Education: A high school diploma is required.
  • Electronics Experience (Preferred): Previous experience with repair of small electronics and cables is preferred.
  • Soldering Skills (Asset): Previous experience with soldering is a plus.
  • Electronics Understanding (Plus): A basic understanding of electronics repair is beneficial.
  • Microsoft Office Proficiency: Competency in using Microsoft Office software.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication is needed due to interactions with internal and external customers.
